What is it about?

This paper is about the data handling and management practices of healtcare workers at the primary healthcare facilities in Ethiopia. Primary healthcare workers are the primary sources of routine healthcare data in Ethiopia. Tbhus, this paper tried to assess the data collection, processing, using, communicating and storing practices of healthcare workers at the their working sites. It also tried to identify potential factors that hinder data management practices of healthcare workers at primary healthcare facilities.

Why is it important?

This paper is so important to improve data quality, processing, using and timely communication practices in ehalthcare systems. transforming healthcare information system is the current agenda of healthcare indistries. Hence, this paper can serve as input for healthcare managers, project owners, academia and researchers to improve the healthcare system and its decision making. Becasue, knowing the status of data management and its associated factors can help identying the working areas of healthcare information system.

Perspectives

This publication was based on first hand data collected by interviewing healthcare workers and managers working in the actual working areas. Data collection, analysis, write up and publication process were carried out with better understanding, controlling and quality. It is based on original data and important to users who are intersted in the field.
