Why is it important?

It provides valuable option for patient with lung cancer in particularly those who may have previously received external beam radiation therapy .

Perspectives

It is my pleasure to write about this very unique treatment known to the specialty of Radiation Oncology for years . The therapy is not limited to lung cancer, is also widely used in other forms of cancer such as head and neck cancers, gynecological cancers, genital urinary cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, and soft tissue cancers etc. Brachytherapy is often a default treatment when external beam radiation option is limited.
