What is it about?
The review comprises various multitarget approaches for Alzheimer's highlighting the docking results, binding interactions, SAR for Alzheimer's activity ,in vitro and in vivo results of Alzheimer's studies. The review includes the research on analogues of tacrine , Donepezil ,Donecopride , Hesperetin, Coumarin, Ligustrazine, Quinoline/Quinolinium, Gramine, Chalcones and Chromenes, Pyrazine/Piperazine analogues, Tadalafil and Carbamates. The review focused on all the available targets for Alzheimer's which are prominent in the progression of Alzheimer's Disease including Cholinesterase, Monoamine oxidase, β-secretase , tau protein, β-amyloid, oxidative stress and NMDA receptors

Why is it important?
The review focused on all research works published in the top peer reviewed journals with high impact factor in the past 20 years. This review focused on the recent developments in multi target directed ligand approaches an the various therapeutic targets . From the molecules presented in the present review, Donecopride, Tacrine – Naphthoquinone hybrids , Tacrine – 1,2,3 - Triazole hybrids and Coumarin – dithiocarbamate analogues were found to be most promising hybrids. The review showed that still the battle for finding a therapeutic agent for Alzheimer's disease is an ongoing process and is a urge of modern era as the Alzheimer's fighters rate is increasing in a screaming manner.
