What is it about?
We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials exploring the effect of topical TXA on bleeding cessation in comparison to vasoconstrictors. Our findings clearly lend support to the conclusion that topical TXA has a better effect of improving bleeding cessation and reducing the rebleeding rate than topical vasoconstrictors in otolaryngology-related emergency for epistaxis.

Why is it important?
Our study provides an alternative treatment option to intuition in the clinical management of epistaxis.
Perspectives
Since epistaxis is a coexisting symptom of the illness, treating the underlying cause is the most effective course of action. An alternative to conventional vasoconstrictors is offered by our research. We anticipate additional pertinent, superior clinical research to enhance this selection.
