What is it about?
Vascular growth is known to be triggered by the inflammatory factor VEGF that increases the amount of urokinase receptor, which promotes vessel sprouting into the tissue. The article shows that the mechanism of urokinase receptor increase caused by VEGF is similar to the inflammatory factors - TNFa and IL-1b.

Why is it important?
In this paper we demonstrated possible molecular mechanisms of uPAR inflammatory response, linking TNF-alpha, IL-1beta, and VEGF signaling pathways with transcriptional regulation of the PLAUR gene. The obtained data can make a significant contribution to the development of new drugs aimed at the regulation of angiogenesis.
