Why is it important?

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is accelerating faster than the development of new treatments, posing a global health emergency. This review stands out by not only addressing the well-known challenges surrounding AMR, but also highlighting innovative, practical solutions, including novel therapies, diagnostics, and stewardship strategies. It provides timely insights for both policymakers and front line healthcare professionals aiming to control the rising threat of drug-resistant infections.

Perspectives

As someone studying microbiology, I’ve always been fascinated, and a bit alarmed by how quickly microbes can adapt to outsmart our treatments. Writing this article gave me a chance to channel that concern into something meaningful. It wasn’t just about compiling research, it felt like a responsibility to speak up about an issue that’s growing right in front of us. Coming from a country where antibiotic misuse is common and awareness is still catching up, I felt it was especially important to bring attention to both the risks and the solutions. This experience deepened my belief that awareness is power, and that real change starts with informed voices.
