What is it about?

This paper reports the performances during the first years of operation of the currently largest Treatment Wetland based on French design guidelines (French Reed Beds) exisiting worldwide. The plant is operating during winter in several cold climate conditions and is treating about 20000 pe, which is at the moment still a quite unusual value for the application of this technique. The treatment plant is located in the city of Orhei in Moldova and has been jointly co-funded by World Bank and European Community.
