What is it about?
This study examines the use of dating apps by Thai men who have sex with men (MSMs) and how these apps are used to encourage substance use. It was found that a significant proportion (73%) of Thai MSMs used dating apps to find partners and invite others to engage in illicit drug use. The study also revealed that substance use during sexual encounters decreased condom usage, indicating a need for further research in this area.

Why is it important?
This research is important because it highlights the role of dating apps in promoting substance use among Thai MSMs. It helps to understand the prevalence of this issue and the potential risks it poses to the health and well-being of the community. By understanding these behaviors, it is possible to develop targeted interventions to promote safer practices and reduce substance use and its associated risks.
