What is it about?

Cerebrolysin in a neuropeptide which has been found to have some beneficial effects for cerebral injuries such as trauma, subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke and also neurodegenerative disease such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson. In this systematic review we tried to gather all the previously published lines of evidence to provide a clear statement regarding its efficacy.

The administration of Cerebrolysin in patients with head injury can improve their functional outcome and cognitive status.

Perspectives

This study provides a Level I evidence that the intravenous administration of the cerebrolysin in patients with traumatic brain injury is associated with improved functional outcome.
