Why is it important?

The three chief traditional guidelines for sobriety (3CGS) are useful, but hard to archive. In this study, the each chief guideline is also effecttive. In patichlar,in the logistic regression analyses between perfect abstinence rate and each guideline, perfect abstinence rate was statistically associated with regular medical checkups (AOR =5.33, 95% confidence interval =1.35–21.0) and participation to self-help group (AOR =3.79, 95% confidence interval =1.17–12.3).

Perspectives

We make much account of the patients who regularly attend medical checkups even if they drink. From the aspect of "harm reduction approach", we should give greater importance to small step efforts in the clinical settings of addction.
