What is it about?
The study tried to explore the hematological indices in T2D, and their correlation with biochemical parameters and anthropometric indices. The study found that, red blood cell distribution width, total white blood cells, absolute lymphocytes, absolute neutrophils, mean platelet volume, and platelet distribution width were found to be significantly increased in the diabetic patients compared with normal controls (P<0.05). Moreover, anthropometric measurements were significantly correlated with total white blood cell and platelet indices. Thus, hematological indices could be the useful indicators of vascular complication and glycemic control in type 2 DM patients.
