What is it about?

The DOPS scale was frequently used to test a practitioner's performance on procedures, surgeries, or other invasive patient treatment maneuvers. However, encountering the current situations, it is urgent to promote abilities to apply their theoretical knowledge to real clinical situations by physicians or medical students; thus, we developed such an instrument to examine and cultivate a medical student of the depth on glycemic control via the use current effective control and monitoring tools: insulin minipump and continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS).

Why is it important?

With the deepening tendency of the division labor of current modern medicine, there is a trend that lessens the hands-on ability of Endocrinological students. Thus, we recommend adopting such an evaluation tool to encourage and enhance the student's hands-on, collaborative coping with acute events in their routine jobs, as well as promote their comprehension knowledge of glycemic control of T2DM.

Perspectives

More investigations should also be on the potential divergencies of individuals, such as practical communication, and mental properties, as well as the knowledge about insulin use or blood glucose control.
