What is it about?
We treated severe limb-threatening foot wounds in diabetic patients by a new strategy to prevent limb amputation. Conservative wound cleaning and removing of dead tissue followed by irrigation of normal saline solution and application of a new ointment composed of royal jelly and panthenol in an enriched alkaline ointment base. The wounds treated with this ointment showed higher and faster healing than those treated with panthenol only as a control group for comparison.
