What is it about?
In this paper, I explained the nature of the assumptions of Orem's theory and the evaluated its usefulness for nursing practice using two different theory analysis and evaluation criteria. The evaluation was supported with the empirical research that used Orem's theory.

Nursing theories are often considered impractical, hence are not used in actual nursing practice. This paper is important because it highlights the usefulness of nursing theories by describing an exemplar of Orem's self-care theory.
Perspectives
This article helped me understand Orem's theory in a better way. I learned more about the research on nursing theories and their usefulness.
