What is it about?
This research shows the analysis of availabe researches and services based on Arduino and Raspberry Pi platforms with the aim of designing future Assistive Technologies (AT) models. The research also describes the needs of people with disabilities and elderly people in order to define requirements that are needed to be fulfilled upon developing AT systems. A review on existing sensors and technologies defined those which are necessary to meet the needs of all user groups. In order to get exact and real-time information, future systems should be designed within Internet of Things (IoT) environment. Integrating system within IoT environment, a connection with Cloud Computing (CC) is established which provides 24/7 service, user safety, data storage and data processing. The proposed system architecture amplifies Quality of Life (QoL) by increasing mobility of users in a way which does not downgrade functionalities of the system. AT is the only part of the architecture that needs to be justified by the demands of users.
