What is it about?
The article analyzes Juan Manuel Santos’ foreign policy during his two periods (2010- 2018). The systemic and domestic factors that influenced his decision-making process are reviewed; these decisions were aimed at seeking internal and external support to consolidate the complex peace process (2012-2016). The result was active diplomacy for peace, based on regional rapprochement, strategic diversification, and the search for prestige to empower Colombia in the international system.
