Un antiguo elemento épico en "Don Juan Tenorio": un "flyting" romántico

El ‘flyting’ es un elemento bien conocido en la literatura épica que se puede encontrar ya en la Ilíada y, posteriormente, en tiempos medievales, como sucede en el caso de Beowulf y Unferth o el Cid y García Ordóñez. Sin embargo, como este artículo trata de demostrar, puede también hallarse en Don Juan Tenorio de Zorrilla, aunque aparece con algunos rasgos distintivos, puesto que implica la adaptación del topos al gusto romántico. The flyting is a very well-known element in epic literature which can already be found in the Iliad, and then in the Medieval times, as it is in the case of Beowulf and Unferth or el Cid and García Ordóñez. However, as this article tries to prove, it can also be found in Zorrilla’s Don Juan Tenorio, although it appears with some distinctive features, as it implies the adaptation of the topos to the Romantic taste.
