What is it about?

In this study, which deals with rock climbing activity where a limited number of studies are performed in the field of tourism, satisfaction of tourists with destination attributes is examined who come to Geyikbayırı area, Antalya for rock climbing. The data, collected from 200 domestic and foreign tourists by survey technique, were analysed by applying Importance-Performance Analysis and the results suggested some strategies about destination attributes. According to the obtained findings, scenery of the area, quietness, range of rocks and routes, and service quality of the personnel are the attributes that are important and their performance should have maintained. In contrast, cleanliness of the accommodation facilities is an attribute that is weak and needed to be more focused on. In addition, differences among the domestic and foreign tourists in terms of their perceptions about destination attributes are specified. For example, satisfaction of foreign tourists with overall cleanliness of the area as well as range of rock and routes are higher than domestic tourists. This study has value in terms of contributing to the clarification of rock climbing tourists’ evaluations about destination attributes and the managerial strategies which should be followed.
