What is it about?
Stewart’s physicochemical approach has been hailed as a quantitative method of analyzing acid-base homeostasis, but in practice no truly quantitative analysis has ever been applied. Although several review articles have appeared criticizing the Stewart approach, none has critically analyzed it in a sufficient detail in a quantitative manner._x000D_ _x000D_ In this communication, we are examining Stewart’s approaches in a detailed quantitative analysis. As a result, the evidence we present here is sufficiently robust to invalidate all major claims of the physicochemical approach. _x000D_ _x000D_
