What is it about?
The authors in this study show that when a G-protein-coupled receptor; ADGRF5, is knocked out in mice, there is increase albumin in the urine along with detachment of glomerular endothelial cells and changes in the basement membrane structure. These changes may occur due to the alterations of matrix deposition by endothelial cells. This research highlights the importance for more research studies aimed to learn about the role of glomerular endothelial cells in the development of glomerular diseases.
