What is it about?

Hemodialysis is used to clean the blood of millions of patients with kidney failure. This requires waster products and excess fluid to be very rapidly removed from them every few days. The strain of this process causes the supply of blood to vital organs like the heart and brain to be reduced, causing short term and long term injury and resulting in disability and death.
