What is it about?

The association between superior vena cava syndrome and an aorto-iliac aneurysm is not common. The approach to each of theses diseases can be either by the conventional way with open surgery or by endovascular techniques.

Why is it important?

Surgical techniques for superior vena cava syndrome of benign origin and aortoiliac aneurysmal disease should be widely discussed in order to perform to the best for the patient. The injury concurrence still requires us to decide the best action sequence. Because it is a rare case, you still need a longer follow-up time, but the association of endovascular and conventional technique in the treatment of some diseases can bring great benefits to the patient.

Perspectives

We report the two methods of surgical intervention open or Endovascular Procedure and discuss their indications and results to treat Superior Vena Cava Syndrome and Aortoiliac aneurysm.
