Why is it important?

Our study identified significant barriers to care of HCV-infected blood donors after diagnosis, highlighting multiple opportunities for improvement along the hepatitis C cascade of care in Brazil.

Perspectives

We reinforce the need to establish strong links between primary care and reference center. Additionaly, we highlighted the need to improve access to specialists and treatments to succesfully treat patients with hepatitis C and break the infection chain of this virus, not only in Brazil but also in other countries where hepatites C is a prevalent infection.
