What is it about?
The existence of industrial chemical processes, with different phases in the reaction system, and the need to know the composition of these system is a challenge commonly faced by industry professionals. Thus, consideration of the chemical equilibrium is usually adopted. One of the main steps of the cement production is the clinker production in the rotary kiln. In this study, it has been proposed the use of the minimization of Gibbs free energy to describe the clinker production process.

Why is it important?
The major objective of this study is to obtain a computational routine that simulates the condition of thermodynamic equilibrium of the system, composed by different phases. For this, a nonlinear constrained optimization problem is solved.
