What is it about?
We use a total variation based denoising model for X-ray images. Our adaptive total variation method removes quantum noise from X-ray images. We use edge indicator measure along with edge preserving total variation to remove noise without losing important edge information in the X-ray images

Why is it important?
Suppressing noise is without degrading the images is an important step in medical image analysis. In this work, we use an adaptive total variation regularization method for removing quantum noise from X-ray images. This method can be used as a preprocessing step for downstream computer-aided-diagnosis (CAD) systems that utilize X-rays of the patients.
