What is it about?
The current increase in insulin resistance and diabetes incidence is due to a global obesity epidemic. Pertinent literature supports the conclusion that obesity-linked skeletal muscle lipid overload leads to the establishment of a positive feedback loop in which ROS production and mitochondrial dysfunction act synergistically causing tissue metabolic derangement.
