What is it about?
Bariatric surgery is an effective treatment option for type 2 diabetes and obesity, but the mechanisms involved are incompletely understood. The present study investigates how nutrient rerouting after RYGB surgery affects the nutrient sensing mechanisms along the gut that regulate body weight, glucose homeostasis and a number of physiological processes contributing to the improvement in diabetes and obesity after surgery.
