What is it about?

Re-activating mamá pina's cookbook is an interactive digital art project that recovers the archival potential of an intergenerational family cookbook and considers it as a valid medium for capturing and storing data.

Why is it important?

This interactive art project considers female domestic labor and ephemeral forms of writing as important sources of historical inquiry. And it also investigates what is the role of women as agents of the archive in our digital era and proposes digital remediation as a strategy to reactivate forms of domestic writing that have been traditionally excluded from the archive.

Perspectives

Publishing this interactive art project in academic journal pushed me to explore the potentials of interdisciplinary scholarship and experiment the possibilities that digital technology offers to integrate both my academic research and art practice.
