A series of studies that tried to make people feel hubristic pride, and ultimately failed.

What is it about?

This paper is a about a series of studies in which we tried to make people feel "hubristic pride." Contrary to what's been in the literature, this has been very challenging, and mostly was unsuccessful. We examined also how different experimental manipulations affected a range of outcomes that should be affected or not affected by the manipulations. We come away with some doubts that hubristic pride can be easily introduced through experimental methods.
