What is it about?

Application of Sequential sampling plan in a truncated life test is discussed. To assess the performance of the proposed sequential sampling plan, two other sampling plans are also presented including Double Sampling plan and Repetitive Group Sampling plan. The results of the analyses indicate that the sequential sampling plan can significantly decrease the average sampling number (ASN) to reach a decision regarding the bath. Also, a procedure is proposed the plot the Operating Characteristic (OC) curve of the plan.

Why is it important?

To the best of author’s knowledge, Sequential Sampling Plans and Repetitive Group Sampling plan have not been applied in the context of truncated life test. In the paper performance of three sampling plans is compared with each other based on the average sampling number criteria.
