What is it about?

In this work, we proposed a multi-well pumping system based on phase angle division technology uses multiple wells to balance each other's loads and realizes that multiple motorized pumping units can be driven by one motor at the same time, eliminating many sets of drag systems, reducing the installed power and transformer capacity, reducing the manufacturing cost. And the filed test revealed that the energy saving effect of ' one motor drive multiple wells ' is better than that of ' one motor drive single wells ' : the output shaft equivalent torque of the gearbox is reduced, the negative torque is eliminated, the working conditions of gearbox and motor are improved, showing a good energy saving effect. The promotion and application of multi-well pumping system in the field of cluster wells will produce remarkable economic and social benefits.

Why is it important?

(1) In this article, a multi-well pumping system based on phase-angle division theory is created with multiple wells to balance each other’s loads, and it is realized that multiple motorized pumping units can be driven by one motor at the same time, which can eliminate many sets of drag systems, reduce installed power and transformer capacity, and cut down on manufacturing costs. The proposed work-matching coordination scheme ensures the normal pumping of other multi-well machines in the operation of the faulted well and improves the adaptability of the multi-well machine. (2) Analyzing the inertia force and friction force, the driving moment fluctuation of the cluster well is also small, which proves the obvious effect of saving energy. (3) In this project, the torque and motor power calculation models of a multi-well pumping system is estab- lished, and both the computer simulation and filed test revealed that the energy-saving effect of “one motor drive multiple wells” is better than that of “one motor drive single wells”: the output shaft equivalent torque of the gearbox is reduced, the negative torque is eliminated, the working conditions of the gearbox and motor are improved, and the power-saving rate can reach up to 32 %; moreover, a multi-well pumping system, especially the dual-well pumping system, has a better balance effect and more uniform load change than a singular-well pumping system and shows more favorable periodicity. Therefore, the promotion and application of a multi-well pumping system in the field of cluster wells will produce remarkable economic and social benefits.
