What is it about?
This study evaluates the out-of-plane strength of walls made from newly developed Compressed Earth Blocks (CEBs) made from local materials in Kuwait in comparison to the currently used concrete masonry units (CMUs). Further testing of other mechanical properties and block performance is 76 ongoing.

Why is it important?
The outcome of this study will help in evaluating the structural performance of walls constructed using CEBs.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. This article also lead to some interesting results which will help us in completing the next stages of this research study.
