What is it about?
Cementitious materials, which are intrinsically brittle materials, can exhibit a degree of ductility when reinforced with a sufficient volume fraction of a fibrous phase. The development of engineered cementitious composites (ECC) – materials reinforced with specially selected short fibers, that have characteristics of concrete with increased bend capability, high ductility and would be valuable for structural applications
