What is it about?

Elicitation methods collect linguistic data using hypothetical situations. I investigated whether elicitation techniques could be modified to simulate real life. I have found that adding a real interlocutor influences responses.

Why is it important?

Collecting natural data is difficult, but elicited data is not natural. This study shows that it may be possible to improve elicitation techniques to eliminate some of the limitations.

Perspectives

I hope this article will contribute to data collection issues in future research.
