What is it about?

This article (editorial) is discussing the use of blockchain technology in Land Administration issues. Land Administration is often seen as to be easily replaced by blockchain technology. It is often underestimated land registry is a rather complex process, including a lot more than storing a contract or changing the name of the owner of an immovable. Yet, there certainly are possibilities to use blockchain technology in the conveying process.

Perspectives

Writing this editorial and working on a blockchain special edition of the European Property Law Journal (EPLJ) was a great pleasure. It was a pleasure and an honour to invite some of the leading experts in Land Administration matters to share their views with regard to blockchain technology.
