What is it about?
Sargassum is one of the economically important species in the world. We try to clarify how sargassum distribution along the coast of Vietnam. This supply information for further research in this marine species.

Why is it important?
This is the first report on distribution patterns of Sargassum species along the long coast of Vietnam. Our study provides baseline data for evaluating ecological disturbance and risks of Sargassum-associated ecosystems.
Perspectives
This is the first report on the distributional range of Sargassum species from Vietnam, revealing a latitudinal trend in species range. Continuous monitoring of species, especially endemic ones as well as Sargassum beds is urgently needed to detect ecological disturbance and risks for marine ecosystems along the coast of Vietnam.
