Abstract: The article addresses conceptional issues regarding the replacement of books, destroyed or so severely damaged by fire that restoration is no longer possible. A lot of books can be replaced, but what does „replacing“ a book really mean? The article also examines the role of original and secondary book versions, potential priorities and methods of cooperation.
