What is it about?

An article about language ideologies and the different kinds of authenticity - for example, political stances, emotional qualities, class identity – that can be expressed via language choices. It is based on an ethnographic research in Salsa communities of practice and shows that languages, as cultural signs, have meaning potentials that reach far beyond a simple language-and-ethnic identity nexus.
