What is it about?

The interdisciplinary nature of innovation requires continous organising crisscross theories supporting different issues of innovation. The literature review conducted in this paper provides an understanding of this crisscross wise organising of the knowledge developed hitherto to enable innovation. Through the enhanced understanding provided a more thorough insight and overview of innovation processes are obtained.

There is a need for sustainability in society on environmental, social and economical issues. All these issues call for innovation to support the aim for sustainability. Therefore more knowledge about innovation processes and how they can succeed is essential for development of society.
