What is it about?
In this study we have examined whether human serum total PAI-1 levels change in response to 2 h hyperbaric exposure to dry air at 280 kPa. Despite clear indications of physiological stress after the exposure we observed no change in PAI-1, and conclude that a significant interindividual variation may limit the usefulness of PAI-1 as a biomarker for physiological stress in diving.
