What is it about?
This paper explores the experiences of part-time teachers at one higher education institution, and their feelings of isolation and disposability. Some were graduate teaching assistants, some were working on zero hours contracts whilst hoping to secure a full-time academic position.

Why is it important?
There are increasing numbers of part-time teachers in higher education, and it is important to capture and hear their voices in order to understand the support they need and whether they are able to access the provision available to them. Unfortunately the amount of provision open to such staff seems to be decreasing across the sector.
