What is it about?

Liver injuries is one of the many reasons why many drugs fail during preclinical and clinical trials. In the subSaharan Africa region, medicinal plants has been employed by many for their primary health care. We have shown that grapefruit seed extract possesses antidotal properties against paracetamol-induced liver toxicity.

Our findings suggest that grapefruit seed extract may be exploited in the phytotherapy of liver diseases.

Perspectives
