What is it about?

The article is about how the materials within the ground that is used to construct buildings and cities could be used is a very different manner through an understating of the materials of grounds relationship to space and context. The article is a speculative architectural project which explores new ways of constructing and designing buildings from the ground up.

Why is it important?

The article is important because of the globalisation of materials for construction coming from around the world due to cost and has no relationship to its context within the construction of architecture.

Perspectives

This article is to reveal an understanding of where materials come from for construction in buildings should be central to the built environment. Discussions about carbon-free, carbon-neutral, embodied carbon and operational carbon is unpacked through a series of speculative drawings.
