What is it about?

The study analyzes the representation of female soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces in the only two Israeli films that deal with the army and were written and directed by women, centered on female soldiers. The study presents the coping strategies of the female soldiers within the male framework. The findings reveal that the female soldiers use non-verbal language to communicate with each other, so the silence that characterizes their conduct is their power and it is a feminist act that produces an authentic dialogue. The female soldiers also discover their femininity and the female solidarity that is possible within this oppressive framework.
