What is it about?

Grief is a complex emotion, felt differently by everyone who experiences it. This article considers the complicated nature of grief and its relationship with technology, including existing ways in which grief has been expressed as 'data' in short fiction. Finally, it considers how digital tools can provide new ways of expressing grief.

Following the Pandemic everyone suffered losses of different scales. This article considers how digital fiction enables writers to convey both small and losses simultaneously.

Perspectives

This article was a reflection not only on the processes involved in reading and writing grief, but also on my own experiences of grief and attempting to articulate them.
