What is it about?

Spain is one of the main investors in the Cuban tourism sector. There are also many Spaniards who visit Cuba every year. That is why this article addresses the way in which the Spanish media refer to Cuba as a tourist destination. What identifies Cuba? What are the main tourist attractions of the island? Why is it important?

Our results reflect that the representation of Cuba as a tourist destination exceeds the traditional sun and beach destination approach. Other attractions such as culture, people and the daily life of the Cuban attracts the attention of the visitor. At the same time we see that some potentials such as nature tourism are still very little exploited.

Perspectives

I hope that this text will help broaden the vision of Cuba as a tourist destination. Cuba not only offers sun and beaches. Also a cultural heritage and an identity that make it unique in its context.
