What is it about?
The collaboration of Toby Morris and Siouxsie Wiles helped people around the world understand the concept of flatten the curve in the first wave of Covid-19. This article analyses why the GIFs they created were so successful, with simplicity and ease of understanding at the forefront.

Why is it important?
As human populations spread to previously uninhabited areas, the chances of contact with different animals and diseases increase. This in turn increases the chances of pandemics of similar scale to Covid-19 happening more regularly. The principles learned from Morris and Wiles can be applied to future pandemic scenarios.
Perspectives
Toby and Siouxsie's work helped my understanding of what was happening during the first wave of Covid-19. Talking to them and analysing their work helped confirm for me the importance of clear, concise communication. Especially in times of crisis.
