This position paper highlights some key findings ang growing concerns of IPCC WGI and WGII lead authors regarding water cycle changes and related impact and adaptation policies.

Why is it important?
Water is a pilar of most sustainable development goals (SDGs) but has not received enough attention so far due to the lack of i) emphasis in the Paris Agreement, ii) accuracy in climate projections, iii) evaluation of existing adaptation measures, and iv) consideration in land-based mitigation options.
