What is it about?

We designed and assessed the effectiveness of a community-centered ND vaccine delivery model in southeastern Kenya. Our findings indicate the model has a broader reach and benefits for smallholder chicken farmers.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that Newcastle disease vaccine coverage can be expanded by anchoring the model on community vaccinators to bridge the last mile delivery challenges

Perspectives

This work was part of an interesting inter-disciplinary collaboration of veterinarians, gender experts and anthropologists. I enjoyed working with these individuals who brought different experiences from their fields.
