What is it about?
The Dehydration Body Monitor (DBM) is an optical device that was added to a consumer Smartwatch and produced accurate readings of hydration level during moderate exercise. Smartwatch output is conveniently recorded by Bluetooth link to a standard smartphone. When comparing DBM readings against water loss measurements with a medical scale, the results differed by roughly 2% indicating a high accuracy.

Why is it important?
Many hydration monitor devices have been designed, but never make it out of the laboratory. The DBM is the first known device to have great potential for broad and reliable consumer use.
